New city panel being formed
The five members of a new city committee will be named in November during an upcoming Indio City Council meeting.
Eight people applied by last week to be part of the Committee on Older Adults. The Human Services Commission members will look over the applications and recommend five people for City Council approval.
“I don't think they are going to have a problem selecting the committee because we have eight good candidates,” human services manager Dave Ison said.
The Committee on Older Adults will report to the Human Services Commission and make sure the city addresses the needs of Indio's elderly residents, Ison said.
