Riverside County firefighters rescued two people from a car that crashed into a house, a fire spokeswoman said today.

At about 1:45 p.m. Friday, Riverside County Firefighters cut two people out of their car outside a home near the intersection of Shadow Lake Drive and Mountain View in Palm Desert, according to Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann.

It is unclear why the car crashed into the home.

An ambulance transported the victims to a local hospital for treatment for minor injuries, Hagemann said.
