Job Fair Tuesday in Cabazon

The Riverside County Board of Supervisors and the Riverside County Workforce Investment Board is hosting a job fair in Cabazon Tuesday at the James A. Venable Community Center, 50-390 Carmen Ave.


The event in a locale that has the highest unemployment rate of any city in Riverside County will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tom Freeman, a spokesman for the Riverside County Economic Development Agency said over 20 employers plan to attend the Job Fair to screen and hire employees for seasonal or full-time work.Some of the employers hail from The Outlets in Cabazon, a popular retail shopping center along the I-10.

The Cabazon Community has been hit hard by unemployment rates that are more than double the county average at 33.7 percent, Freeman said.

The event, funded by 2009 Workforce Investment dollars, was organized under the direction of Riverside County Supervisor Marion Ashley; Workforce Development Board Chairman Ric Olalde; Assistant County Chief Cxecutive for the Economic Development Agency Rob Feld' and Economic Development Agency Managing Director Dan Martinez.
