A victim of a home invasion robbery in Moreno Valley who escaped and flagged down police officers enabled them to locate a suspect in a silver Ford Focus fleeing the scene, authorities said today.
Officers were called to a residence in the 22800 block of Cottonwood Avenue at 10:55 p.m. Sunday where two suspects used a shotgun to get into a residence, said Sgt. Nathan Kass of the Moreno Valley Police Department.
The Ford was stopped and the lone occupant, Marcus Quiller, 21, was taken into custody.
Five adults and three juveniles were still in the residence. A second suspect, Melvin McDuffie III, 24, was taken into custody as he tried to walk down the side yard of the home.
Also detained in the home was Weldon Spurling, 24.
All three suspects are from Long Beach.
The shotgun was found in the front yard of a next door neighbor.
