Country club opens garage sale to public

For the first time, the Heritage Palms Country Club's Jubilee Day will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 14.

Jubilee Day is the housing community's annual garage sale, organizer Darryl Mohr said.

More than 100 homes in the gated community will have items ranging from paintings to cars for sale from their driveways, Mohr said.

Enter the housing community through the main gate at the southeast corner of Fred Waring Drive and Jefferson Street.

Get pets' licenses, rabies shots at clinic

The Animal Care Center of Indio will sell dog licenses and give rabies vaccinations from 9 to 11 a.m. Nov. 21 at the Animal Care Center, 45-355 Van Buren St.

Rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats are $5. Dog license fees range from $9 to $17 for spayed or neutered dogs and from $50 to $150 for dogs that aren't spayed or neutered.

The Animal Care Center will only take cash or checks. Dogs must be leashed, and cats must be in carriers.
