Palm Springs will be the host city to a number of events featuring high-profile guests.


Here's a look at a few scheduled features, starting this weekend:

‘An Evening with Rita Moreno'

Oscar, Grammy, Emmy and Tony award winner Rita Moreno is scheduled to give a musical performance to benefit the Annenberg Theater Council.

Where: Annenberg Theater, Palm Springs Art Museum, 101 Museum Drive

When: 6 p.m. Saturday

Cost: $265 for Annenberg Theater Council members ($140 is tax deductible) and $295 for nonmembers ($170 is tax deductible)

Judy Shepard book signing

The mother of Matthew Shepard, a gay University of Wyoming student who was killed in 1998, is scheduled to sign copies of her new book “The Meaning of Matthew: My Son's Murder in Laramie, and a World Transformed” in uptown Palm Springs.
