The Pendleton Foundation will host its fifth annual Chef's Auction from 5 to 9 p.m. today.

The event raises money for the nonprofit to help meet the financial needs of Coachella Valley residents who have cancer.

The event includes an appetizer reception prepared by local celebrity chefs and a gourmet dinner by chef Leanne Kamekona.

The feature event is the live auction, during which executive chefs from at least 11 local restaurants are auctioned off to the highest bidder for an evening with a complete gourmet dinner for eight in the winner's home.

The event will be held at Rancho Las Palmas Resort and Spa in Rancho Mirage.
