Nancy Pelosi can't do the math

October 3, 2008

For years I have noted the differences between the liberals and conservatives in Congress. This week I discovered a new one — and it related to mathematics.

I observed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi standing straight-faced before a TV camera, blaming 12 Republicans for failure of her bailout bill while the TV screen behind her displayed graphics that showed 94 Democrats voted against her. Either she failed math miserably or she was trying to game the system and feels the public is too stupid to see through her tactic.

Any citizen with an IQ over room temperature knows that 12 Republican votes cannot overcome 94 Democrat votes. Maybe her constituents in the Bay Area are stupid enough to believe her, but the average American is much smarter than that. Scary to think she is third in line for leader of our country.
