The decision comes after eight months of discussions and about seven suggested names.

Pioneer Park's signage will include a plaque with the names of the city's pioneers from the early 1900s, which include the Lundbeck, Marshall, Burkett, Sniff, Clarke and Pederson families.

The park, located on the southeast corner of Washington Street and Miles Avenue, is a three-acre park.
