Multiple John McCain and Sarah Palin political signs along the Washington Street corridor in La Quinta have been vandalized.

The signs were spray-painted with bright orange circles over the candidates' names. Other political signs nearby were untouched.

La Quinta's Police Chief, Capt. Rodney Vigue, said he has not seen the signs or received complaints from drivers.

“We have seen a variety of vandalism to signs throughout the valley, including Robert Sylk's in La Quinta,” he said.

There have been no arrests made and no suspects identified, Vigue said. Call the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, Indio station, with information at 863-8990.
