Events commemorating Veterans Day will be taking place in the coming week.

On Saturday, the Palm Springs Air Museum is hosting a celebration honoring Veterans Day and the facility's 12th birthday.
The event will feature flight demonstrations with a P-54 Mustang, P-38 Lightning, P-63 King Cobra and T-33 jet.
“It's maybe only two or three times a year that we are flying planes at the museum,” said Ann Greer, media contact for the Palm Springs Air Museum. “So this will probably be one of our biggest events.”
There will be a D-Day re-enactment by an 82nd Airborne group. There also will be food vendors as well face painting and coloring for children.
Nearly 20,000 people are expected to attend this year's Veterans Day Parade in downtown Palm Springs. The annual event will start at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
“Our parade is unique in that we have no grand marshall,” said Michele Cirone-Collier, special events coordinator and military liaison for the city of Palm Springs. This sentiment goes along particularly with this year's theme: “Honoring All Who Served.”
Cirone-Collier said there will be four T-34 trainer airplanes that will fly over the parade in formation as well as one SH-60 helicopter from squadron HSL-43 in North Island, San Diego.
She also said the Tuskegee Airmen, Pearl Harbor Survivors and the 11th Calvary Regiment Horse Detachment of Fort Irwin will be a part of the procession.
Following the parade, there will be a concert at the corner of Palm Canyon Drive and Amado Road featuring the Twentynine Palms Marine Corps Band.
