Fantasy, romance, economic value and green living will converge next week at the annual Palm Springs Home and Health Expo.

The theme of the three-day event: “Your Home. Your Health. Your Community” is meant to address the community's changing needs during a turbulent economy, said Ashley Irvine, public relations director for the event.
“It's going back to what we really need for our homes, health and family,” Irvine said.
The expo will take place Nov. 21-23 at the Palm Springs Convention Center.
James Callahan, a Palm Springs interior designer, will give the keynote address, “Romance and Fantasy — a necessary diet supplement,“ on Nov. 22-23.
He said the way a home is designed affects its occupants' well-being.
“We can't change our lives if we can't change our environment,” Callahan said.
In addition to health awareness, Irvine said the expo will have an emphasis on green living.
Solar Distributors Inc., which has been in business in the desert for the past 32 years, is the presenting sponsor for the event.
General Manager Frank Binford said the company has grown in the past few years because of public awareness about greenhouse emissions as well as incentive programs to use solar products.
Binford said the company will have a large booth at the expo showing and providing information about its products.
“I think (expo attendees) will be convinced that it's an excellent investment,” Binford said. “It will help them achieve energy independence and clean up emissions in general.”
Rounding out the expo will be a live auction of furniture, artwork, Tiffany lamps and sculptures on Saturday and Sunday afternoon, Irvine said. And children who attend can participate in activities provided by Home Depot.
