Investigators cited employees from six Palm Desert businesses Thursday for selling tobacco to a minor, the Palm Desert Police Department reported.

The department's Business District Team used a 16-year-old boy, using a valid driver's license with his correct age, as a decoy to buy tobacco products from several city businesses.
The businesses were:
USA Petroleum Corporation, 72-300 Highway 111.
Vons grocery store, 72-675 Highway 111.
Jensen's Finest Foods, 73-601 Highway 111.
Atoyac meat market, 73-850 Highway 111.
Mobile Short Stop, 74-478 Highway 111.
Country Club Liquors, 74-495 Highway 111.
The businesses also violated city ordinances and face administrative penalties, officials said.
