A Riverside man shot and wounded his wife, then turned the gun on himself and took his own life, authorities said today.

Officers were sent to the 4100 block of Yukon Way shortly before 10 a.m. Thursday after receiving reports of two people with gunshot wounds inside a residence, Riverside police said.

The husband, whose name was withheld, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His wife was found bleeding from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and taken to Riverside Community Hospital for treatment, according to police.

Police spokesman Steve Frasher said that at some point during the morning, the couple got into an argument, and the husband apparently went for a gun.

``It appears he shot her, grazed her a bit, and then turned the gun on himself,'' Frasher said.
