Police on Thursday arrested a suspect in a shooting that left a boy injured last week in Indio.

On Nov. 14, Indio resident Carlos Flores, 32, is suspected of firing several rounds of what may have been birdshot in Yucca Park, in the 43-600 block of Yucca Street, according to the Indio Police Department.

“We do not feel the young juvenile was the target,” department spokesman Ben Guitron said.

He added the male victim was “back at home in good condition.”

No one else was injured.
