Desert High School 3, Desert Chapel 2: The host Eagles (20-3, 10-2) were defeated 25-23, 25-17, 20-25, 21-25, 13-15 by Desert High School to end their CIF Division IV-A playoff run.

For the Eagles, Emily Lyneis had 25 kills and 21 digs, Taylor Lyneis finished with 10 kills and 18 digs, Stephanie Rovney added 43 digs, Lauren Roth had five kills and five blocks, and Karissa Canales finished with six kills and five blocks.

Indians to host Summit tonight

By beating Cathedral City 57-0 last week, the Palm Springs football team ensured its Desert Valley League championship.

In a game that was never close, Palm Springs put away the Lions, who finished winless and last in the DVL.

Palm Springs finished 5-0 and undefeated in the DVL and 7-3 overall.

Cathedral City's final record was 1-9, 0-5.
