Daniel Garcia has had quite a time the past two weeks.

On Nov. 7, the junior running back and kicker scored 10 points for the Cathedral City High football team against Indio High. Why is that so significant, especially considering the Lions lost?
Because those were all the points the Lions scored. He scored a touchdown, kicked the field goal and the extra point.
Then just last Friday, his fortunes went from zenith to nadir, when he was knocked unconscious in the middle of the game against Palm Springs and had to be taken from the field by ambulance.
Garcia spoke with the Cathedral City Sun this week about his wild two games.
QUESTION: What did the rest of the team think about your 10-point game?
Some players noticed, some people said it was amazing that I did it, because it's hard to do.
What happened to you in last week's game?
I was getting the ball off-tackle and there was a missed block, I guess, and I took a helmet-to-helmet hit, so I got a concussion.
You were lying on the field for quite some time. Were you out cold?
Yeah.
Who asked for the ambulance, was it you?
I guess my dad was down on the sidelines and he told them to call the ambulance.
How long were you in the hospital?
Until about 3:30 in the morning, for observation mostly.
