Nine judges can confirm why Food Network TV has named the annual Indio International Tamale Festival one of the top 10 “All American Food Festivals” in the United States.

Hopefully the nine — all local media members, residents or officials — greeted Saturday's judging duties at the 17th annual event with hearty appetites as they tasted dozens of entries.

Judges named seven winners in five categories, including two double winners — Grandma Lupe's Authenic Tamale and Iglesia La Luz Del Mundo.
