There's hardly any room left on Sandy Stewart's white baseball cap.
The Indio resident on Thursday and Saturday spent her days at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic tournament following celebrities and collecting their signatures on her hat.
“I love it. This is fun,” she said Saturday, showing off her hard work.
More than a dozen of the actors, athletes, musicians and political figures playing in the five-day pro-am tournament signed her hat.
“Dan Quayle, Tom Dreesen, Dan Fouts, Sterling Sharpe, Bo Jackson, Kurt Russell, Huey Lewis” she said, the list going on and on.
Her favorite celebrity by far was actor Chris O'Donnell, known for his role as Robin in two “Batman” films.
“He sat next to me when everyone else was putting (before the tournament). He was funny,” she said.
Another fan favorite is rocker Alice Cooper, a tournament mainstay known as the pioneer of shock rock.
On Saturday, his golf cart was often surrounded by fans asking for autographs, photos and even handshakes.
Pat Holloway from Salisbury, Md., had her husband take a photo of her with Cooper, bringing back a slew of memories from some 30 years ago when she used to listen to his music.
“He was so different, with his long hair and he was so crazy-looking,” she said.
The highlight of her time at the Classic, though, was seeing tournament host and five-time event winner Arnold Palmer.
“He is just a wonderful person,” Holloway said.
Other attending celebrities included: comedian Kevin Nealon, athlete Derek Anderson, singer Michael Bolton and actor Michael Peña.
If anyone knows anything about celebrities and golf, it's Danielle Marman and Paulette Daly, former Classic girls, who, about five years ago through sponsors and private donations, began throwing parties for the tournament celebrities.
“It's become so much fun,” Marman said.
“We look forward to it so much. There's something going on every day and night; there's energy,” she said.
Many of the celebrities and, in some cases, their spouses swing by the parties. This year they were held at Stir nightclub in the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort on Wednesday, Costa's nightclub on Thursday and Desert Sage restaurant on Friday.
Marman and Daly stood at the 11th hole on Saturday saying hello to all the celebrities who attended the week's festivities.
“This is the biggest week of the year in the desert. All of a sudden it comes alive,” Marman said.
