Miss California International 2010 Gretheel Olvera spoke to first- through fifth-grade students at Bubbling Wells Elementary School in Desert Hot Springs earlier this month (Oct. 9) about the importance of setting goals, following their dreams and focusing on school.

Olvera, who is from Berkeley, Calif. and is bilingual, also talked to the students about the importance of learning English and also about being proud of their culture and keeping their second language.

She spoke at two separate assemblies, which were optional, and also answered student questions. This is the third year that Miss California International has visited the school.
