We support Russ Betts' candidacy for mayor of Desert Hot Springs. He has proven to be a contributing member of the current City Council as a steadying influence with a positive, professional demeanor and strong management skills.

We believe that Mayor Yvonne Parks has been a valuable cheerleader for our city. She, along with the current council, have brought about many positive changes acting as an effective “transition team” from past City Councils. However, we believe we need new, strong mayoral leadership (as well as effective cheerleading) to move this city to the next level of sound fiscal management and professionalism.

Betts understands that Desert Hot Springs must be run as a business and that council must make its decisions based on proven business skills, coupled with financial responsibility. Only then can the council provide all of the residents a positive quality of life.
