Pearse, LaPorta to talk at woman's show
The second annual Desert Cities Woman's Show today and Sunday at Renaissance Esmeralda Resort and Spa in Indian Wells is expected to raise $60,000 for Coachella Valley charities.
The show features booths and displays by 100 local merchants, demonstrations, outdoor living displays, a fashion show, entertainment and hourly giveaways.
“Taste of the Valley'' will feature 16 local restaurants paired with fine wines and spirits.
Speakers include Clive Pearse and Lisa LaPorta from HGTV's “Designed to Sell” and “Design Star” programs, as well as other celebrity guests.
Cost is $12 at the door.

Tea, purse auction planned for event
The Trendsetter Chapter of the American Business Women's Association will have a PURSE-onali-TEA fundraiser Nov. 22.
A garden tea and purse auction are planned for the event, which begins at 2 p.m. at Rancho Las Palmas Resort, 41-000 Bob Hope Drive in Rancho Mirage.

O'Donnell Golf Club celebrates 65th year
O'Donnell Golf Club will celebrate its 65th sapphire anniversary with a lineup of special events Nov. 14.
Festivities will begin with a morning celebrity golf scramble tournament, putting and chipping contests, and a barbecue lunch. An elegant evening event starts at 6:30 p.m. with a dinner, celebration and dancing.
The golf club, built by oilman Thomas O'Donnell, who came to Palm Springs in the 1920s, is at 301 N. Belardo Road.
