The Ophelia Project, a volunteer team that mentors teenage girls in Desert Sands Unified School District schools, needs more volunteer adult female mentors.
The mentors work with students twice a month at the schools, assist with group mentoring activities and help arrange a broad range of informal instruction on topics such as art awareness, nutrition, career path selection and college preparation.
Mentor orientation and program training is provided.
The project is a service of the Healthy Family Foundation.
