Chris Mills said at the Nov. 7, 2007, council meeting, “The sign laws in Palm Springs are equal for all. Allowing neon signs at SnipSnipBuzz would start a trend that would ruin Palm Springs. To think a sign is going to make or break a business is not true, that if an exception was made for SnipSnipBuzz, it would have to be made for all businesses that want extra signs.”
Have Chris Mills explain WalMart's 17 signs and Home Depot's 50 percent sign increase. Starbucks signs are twice the size allowed. Starbucks enlarged its sign again. I have photos.
I get threatened with $1,000-a-day fines and jail time, while favors are granted to No. 1 businesses in the world.
Chris Mills is out of touch with reality. Palm Springs' small business has been undermined by backward- thinking attitudes like Mills and predecessors.
Palm Springs is broken. Vote for Barbara Beaty and Drew Sweatte for City Council.
