Riverside County public health workers will administer free swine flu vaccines to students in Coachella and Banning this week.
Officials hope to offer the free vaccinations to students in each of the county's school districts, Barbara Cole, the director of disease control, said.
In Riverside County, 1,058 cases of swine flu have been confirmed and 16 people have died from the virus, according to the health department.
Vaccination clinics will be held Wednesday in Coachella and today and Friday in Banning. Children ages 2 to 12 have first priority for the vaccinations, county health officials said. Supplies are limited, and more clinics will be scheduled as vaccines arrive.
