SilverRock reopens with special rates

The SilverRock Resort reopened after overseeding Wednesday and has special rates in effect until Christmas.


The rate for La Quinta residents with a valid resident card is $45, and $100 for residents' guests, resort officials said.

The city-owned public golf course is at 79-179 Ahmanson Lane.

Sand volleyball tournament set

The La Quinta 6-on-6 Sand Volleyball Tournament is set for 8 a.m. Saturday at Adams Park, 44-425 Adams St.

Eight teams will play for the title of 2009 champion.

Trophies will be awarded to first- and second-place teams, city officials said.

Wayfinder signs going up in city

The installation of wayfinder signs as part of the city's Village Wayfinding Sign Program has begun, according to city officials.

The signs are primary gateway signs on Jefferson and Washington streets that direct people to The Village area in La Quinta, local vehicle signs located at primary intersections within The Village and pedestrian signs within the La Quinta Civic Center.

All signs are expected to be installed by mid-December, city officials said.
