Commission to meet over rent increase
The Mobile Home Fair Practices Commission will hold a hearing Nov. 16 about a rent increase at the Arabian Gardens Mobile Home Park.
The hearing concerns a rent increase of $23.43 per month for the next 180 months to recover costs of capital improvements made in 2008.
The hearing begins at 4 p.m. Monday in the City Council Chambers, 150 Civic Center Mall.

State providing cash for Golf Center work
Indio received $443,000 from the California Transportation Commission in mid-October for construction on Golf Center Parkway.
The city will repave 1 mile of Golf Center Parkway from Highway 111 to Indio Springs Parkway and install a traffic signal at the Avenue 45 intersection, city officials said.
The funding covers 25 percent of the project's overall $1.7 million cost. It will be funded also by the Coachella Valley Association of Governments.
Construction is slated to start early next year.

Rotarians organizing trip to L.A. winery
The Indio Rotary Club is organizing a tour of the San Antonio Winery in Los Angeles on Nov. 14.
Participants will meet at 7 a.m. at the Riverside County fairgrounds, 46-350 Arabia St., to board a charter bus to the winery, Rotary officials said. The tour includes breakfast at the Maddalena Restaurant, a private tour of the winery, a wine and cheese tasting, and visit to Placita Olvera, a tourist district of Los Angeles. The tour is $75 per person and the deadline for reservations is today.
