City gears up for annual tree lighting

The city of Palm Springs will celebrate the holiday season with its annual Christmas tree lighting for city employees and Coachella Valley residents on Dec. 1.

Caroling will kick off on the steps of City Hall, 3200 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way, beginning at 5:15 p.m. That will be followed by a visit from Santa Claus on a fire truck and the official tree lighting by city officials and a guest host.

The event will be broadcast live on News Channel 3 at 6:05 p.m.
