U.S. military service men and women will be front and center, in spirit if not in body, next week during two Palm Springs events.

A patriotic procession and birthday bash are planned in honor of Veterans Day.

Here's a look:

Where: Palm Canyon Drive in downtown. The parade will start on Ramon Road and Palm Canyon Drive and head northward on Palm Canyon Drive to Alejo Road.

A concert is scheduled after the parade at the intersection of Amado Road and Palm Canyon Drive.

The concert is expected to conclude with a fireworks display.

When: 3:30 to 5:15 p.m. Wednesday
