The three incumbents in the Desert Water Agency election were reseated this week as directors.
Incumbent Patricia “Pat” Oygar of Palm Springs led the race with nearly 7,000 votes, according to the Riverside County Registrar's Web site.
“I think people appreciate the experience and the knowledge, but I know they want things to get done,” the five-term director said Tuesday night.
Incumbents James Cioffi and Ron Starrs also reclaimed their positions with 5,943 and 5,902, respectively.
Trailing behind was challenger Armando Rancano with 3,440 votes. The Palm Springs sustainability commissioner ran on a platform of conserving water.
“Either way, we are going to get a strong water conservation program. I would have preferred doing it while on the inside, but I look forward to a partnership with the board,” Rancano said Tuesday night.
