Michelle Price of Desert Hot Springs has been appointed to the California Community Colleges Board of Governors.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger announced the appointment Thursday.

Price, 27, is a sales associate for Follett Higher Education Group and was previously an office assistant at College of the Desert.

She is a member of the Associated Students at the College of the Desert and is a regional senator for the Student Senate for California Community Colleges.

The position does not require Senate confirmation. Price, a decline-to-state-voter, gets $100 per-diem compensation.
