The Palm Springs City Council dedicated two Pierce Quantum fire engines and a compressed natural gas police car on Wednesday. The new police vehicle is equipped with four automated license plate reading cameras.
The police car is part of a pilot program, according to Palm Springs police Chief David Dominguez.
The new vehicle gets 100 miles per tank of gasoline, Dominguez added.
