Deputies look into compressor theft

Oct. 9, 1:18 p.m. — Deputies responded to a grand theft at a residence in the 43-700 block of Grand Canyon Place.


An unknown suspect took an air conditioning compressor from the rear yard of the residence.

School bus involved in minor collision

2:34 p.m. — A Desert Sands Unified School District school bus was involved in a minor traffic collision in front of Indio High School, at 81-750 Avenue 46.

No injuries were reported.

Burglars remove home's appliances

Oct. 10, 12:03 p.m. — Deputies responded to a residential burglary at a vacant home in the 80-200 block of Peak Forest Drive.

An unknown suspect broke the east-side living room window and took a dishwasher, microwave and a stove, police said.

Copper wiring was also taken.

Car break-in results in loss of pillow

Oct. 11 11 a.m. — Deputies responded to an attempted automobile burglary in the 45-500 block of Deglet Noor Street.

An unknown suspect smashed the driver's window and took a pillow on the passenger seat. The vehicle's alarm was activated, possibly scaring off the burglar, police said.

Purse stolen from vehicle at casino

Oct. 13, 11:41 p.m. — Deputies responded to an automobile burglary in the west parking lot at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino.

An unknown suspect or suspects took a purse containing personal items.

Jewelry, money stolen from home

Oct. 14, 3:18 p.m. — Deputies responded to a residential burglary at a home in the 82-000 block of Calico Avenue.

An unknown suspect smashed the home's rear window. Jewelry, credit cards and cash were stolen.
