The Riverside County Sheriff's Department's Southern Coachella Valley Community Services District will conduct a checkpoint on Nov. 13 to catch anyone driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Next week's checkpoint will take place at an undisclosed location from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Nov. 14, officials said.

California Highway Patrol officials will assist with the program, which is being done to reduce the number of DUI-related injuries and deaths.

The Community Services District covers the area of Thermal, Mecca, Oasis and Vista Santa Rosa.
