Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Thursday announced he signed Assembly Bill 1009.
The bill, authored by Assemblyman V. Manuel Pérez, makes changes to state law in order to help California leverage $2.3 billion in federal economic recovery bonds.
Officials hope the changes pave the way for development of manufacturing facilities and production of intangible goods such as biotech and nanotech products.
Pérez is Coachella Democrat.
