After reading the lengthy articles about the Coachella Valley Economic Blueprint, it appears to me to be a full employment program for bureaucrats who love to spend public money.
Of course, all the lofty goals prescribed by the usual bureaucratic gobbledygook but beautiful-sounding language will require untold numbers of committees with concomitant staffs to research facts and prepare endless number of reports and studies, which will go through endless revisions. Even the contributions to pay for it all sound wonderful until you think about it awhile.
Where will the hospitals get the money for their contributions? And it goes on and on. Form a committee, hire staff, spend money. Nowhere do I see anything like reduce taxes and fees now to encourage tourists and businesses with a concomitant reduction in all-but-necessary city functions to pay for it.
Nowhere do I see anything that helps out now or even six months from now. More pie in the sky.
