The Desert Sun will hold a series of eight point-counterpoint columns and online video debates on the presidential campaign through November. The debate between Democrat Les Zendle and Republican William Snaer on health care took place on Tuesday, Aug. 14.

From July 17 to Oct. 23 from 2-2:30 p.m. every other Tuesday, visitors to mydesert.com can watch local Democratic and Republican leaders debate stances on the issues taken by President Barack Obama and presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney. Columns on the issues will appear in The Desert Sun on the day of the debates.
