    DWA: Suit could spike rates

    The Desert Water Agency has started crunching numbers to assess potential financial impacts of a water lawsuit by the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, and it estimates that customers could see sharply higher water bills if the tribe prevails.

    Study predicts less local snowfall

    A new scientific study predicts that the mountains of Southern California will lose about one-third of their snowfall by the middle of this century, and that much more snow is likely to vanish in the second half of the century if substantial actions aren’t taken to limit global warming.

    Endangered frogs reintroduced into wilderness

    Dozens of frogs hopped from plastic containers into a mountain creek on Wednesday as researchers began a reintroduction effort that they hope can save the most endangered amphibian in California.
